#ICYMI: POCO C40 now official with JLQ Technology chipset

POCO announced its latest smartphone called the C40 but it will come with a new chipset, not from mainstream brands we know.

The handset appears in a familiar POCO design with its Yellow, Green, or Black plastic body together with a huge camera island with the brand's name. 

Upfront, its display has a 6.71 IPS LCD with HD+ resolution, 60Hz refresh rate, and 400 nits max brightness.

What's an intriguing aspect here is that instead of choosing from the famous ones like Qualcomm, MediaTek, or Unisoc. The Chinese phone maker opted to choose the 2.0GHz 11nm JR510 octa-core processor from the JLQ Technology which is a semiconductor maker based in Shanghai.

According to POCO,  this processor should be on par with the 12nm Snapdragon 450 and MediaTek's 12nm Helio G35.

Moving forward, the C40 smartphone also has 4GB RAM and 64GB expandable storage.

Its battery uses a big 6,000mAh size along with a fast 18W charging adaptor.

For cameras, it is equipped with a 13MP module for the main and another 2MP VGA. As for the selfie shooter it is using 5MP.

Another feature mentioned is the side-mounted fingerprint reader for security.

For connectivity, it has dual-band WiFi, 4G, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, USB-C, and a 3.5mm audio jack.

Meanwhile,  the software runs Android 11 Go Edition.
