‘God of War Ragnarok’ still reportedly launching this year

Sony is increasing its lineup for the PlayStation 5. This year, the platform added a current-generation follow-up to its prolific Horizon franchise, Horizon Forbidden West. Of course, that title isn’t the only thing we’re looking forward to. God of War Ragnarok has been in the pipeline for a while now, albeit rocked by delays. Now, a rumor has hinted that the delay isn’t as bad as originally thought.

According to sources from Bloomberg, God of War Ragnarok might still launch around November later this year. In fact, Sony will likely announce a launch date as early as this month.

Previously, the anticipated sequel was reportedly delayed as far back as 2023. At the time of the last delay, the game was already pushed back due to Christopher Judge’s (Kratos’s voice actor) health issues.

At the time of this writing, Sony has not confirmed what is happening to the title. Since the success of the previous game, players have patiently waited for the next chapter in the story. As we know now, development took a bit more time to accommodate the introduction of the PlayStation 5.

If anything, the PlayStation 5 already has an expansive library to stave off the hunger for the unannounced title. Just recently, Sony announced an upcoming remake to its award-winning classic, The Last of Us.
