Finally, standard USB-C port on iPhones soon?

Apart from having the standard USB-C port, the media publication shared that Apple is also working on an adapter to let future iPhones sporting USB-C work with its current accessories with a lightning head.

Bloomberg notes that this move could help the company conform to the looping European regulations.

Under the said legislation, USB-C will become the standard port for all smartphones, tablets, cameras, headphones, portable speakers, and handheld video game consoles. It covers all types of smartphones including iPhones.

Among all the major phone makers today, Apple is the only one that is still not using USB-C even if they are already using the said technology on its PC-line (MacBooks).

To recap, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said that Apple will adopt USB-C on iPhones in 2023. If true, this means that the iPhones that will launch this year will still have the lighting port.

If true, Apple's shift to USB-C on iPhones will make its future users enjoy better data transfers and faster-charging speeds. There is a good chance that it will be compatible with your extra USB Type-C cable lying around in your place.
