Starbucks, Grab partner for better customer experience

Starbucks announced an integrated partnership with Southeast Asian superapp Grab to provide customers with a more seamless experience.

The partnership will allow customers across Grab’s six SEA markets to earn Starbucks Rewards benefits for purchases via the app.

Utilizing Grab’s range of services will also create a more personalized and convenient customer experience. These services are as follows: GrabPay, GrabRewards, GrabFood, GrabExpress, and GrabGifts.

Integrated loyalty program

A first for Starbucks in Southeast Asia, the famed coffeehouse chain will integrate Starbucks Rewards with the Grab platform.

This will allow Starbucks Rewards members more ways to earn rewards for their Starbucks orders by linking their accounts with GrabRewards to earn both stars and points for every GrabFood order.

In the future, customers will also have the option to sign up for Starbucks Rewards membership via the Grab app and redeem a handful of freebies and exclusive treats.

The said feature will launch in the Philippines particularly in the second half of 2022. There are also plans to expand to additional Southeast Asia markets by 2024.

Seamless delivery experience

With the partnership, customers will also be able to enjoy the Starbucks experience through expanded options and solutions through Grab, including:

  • Pay for orders via GrabPay e-wallets both online and in-store
  • Order online for in-store pick-up via GrabFood
  • Instant delivery via GrabExpress using GrabFood’s self-pick-up feature
  • Social gifting through GrabGifts
