This new budget smartphone highlights a 6.5-inch large display, a 5,000mAh battery, and an 8MP AI Camera. It is powered by a UNISOC 9863 SoC, up to 4GB RAM, and up to 64GB internal storage expandable up to 256GB via microSD card slot.

It also has a Super Power Saving Mode for battery optimization when needed. realme narzo 50i is available in two colors: Mint Green and Black.

We know you're excited to know more about this new handset, so here's our unboxing and first impressions for the realme narzo 50i.

Unboxing/Accessories

What's inside?
What's inside?

The narzo series shies away from the usual bright yellow-colored box of realme products. This handset is packed in a light blue box with narzo branding.

Inside are the following: narzo 50i, USB cable, wall charger, screen protector film, SIM ejector tool, and paper documents.

There are no included transparent case and 3.5mm earphones.

Build Quality/Design

6.5-inch display

Resembling its predecessors, the narzo 50i has a plastic backplate, plastic camera hump, plastic frame, and a glass display. Its SIM card tray also has no rubber gasket for some sort of water resistance.

Satisfactory build

Despite its plastic build, realme narzo 50i can sustain drops without breaking easily. The visible little specks of dirt that stick to it can be simply wiped. There is no mention of Gorilla Glass protection though. So even if it has a pre-installed screen protector, netter if you will put it in a case.

Similar to the narzo 50A we had in the country, this handset features a textured back, too. It features a diagonal stripe design with a rectangular camera hump housing the lone rear camera, LED flash, and narzo branding.

Mint Green is a perfect color choice!

The textured design results in a nice grip, so good job, realme. The small loudspeaker is placed at the left bottom of the handset's back.

realme not including a transparent case is forgiven since the design is not a fingerprint magnet.

On top is a smooth surface while at the bottom is the micro USB port, microphone, and 3.5mm headphone jack slot.

The narzo 50i runs on the realme Go UI based on Android 11. As mentioned it sports an 8MP rear camera with LED flash and a 5MP front camera with HDR. The stock camera app includes video, capture (photo), portrait, burst, interval, time-lapse, pro, and panorama.

As of the moment

realme narzo 50i full review soon!
realme narzo 50i full review soon!

In the Philippines, the realme narzo 50i will come in the 4GB/64GB variant only. We noticed that it's a little pricey compared to what we have expected.

Take the narzo 30A for example, it may be PHP 200 more expensive than the narzo 50i, but it has higher overall specs than the 50i.

But, we're not taking away the fact that this price could be due to the global shortage ng chips and components.

Aside from the price and not including a transparent case and headphones in the package, we're yet to find out more nitpicks, if it has. As per our initial experience, everything is usable—from its nice design, good display despite the IPS LCD panel to its decent first few camera samples.

We're yet to have an in-depth experience with the handset and we'll see how the narzo 50i fares in real-life usage.

We'll be sharing with you our full review very soon!

Anyway, those who purchase the narzo 50i or any realme device with a minimum spend worth PHP 5,000 until January 2, 2022, at any realme flagship store or authorized partner dealer can get a chance to win one of PHP 16,000 worth of realme TechLife prizes and earn an e-raffle ticket at a chance to drive home an all-new Mitsubishi Mirage G4!
