Xbox creates a SpongeBob-themed Xbox Series X

More than a year into their respective launch dates, getting a new gaming console is still a difficult endeavor. The next generation of gaming is going through a plethora of shortages mainly caused by the global chip shortage. Despite the shortages, Microsoft is making the new Xbox Series X a bit harder to get. The company created a limited-edition SpongeBob-themed Xbox Series X.

To celebrate the launch of new brawler game Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl, Microsoft made two exclusive consoles designed after the aforementioned character and Leonardo from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

If you’re somehow attracted to how the console looks like, Microsoft isn’t making it easy to get the new console. The two consoles are obtainable only through a special lottery that the company is holding. Prospective winners should retweet the announcement between October 11 through October 24.

Much like Nintendo’s popular brawler game Smash, Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl features classic characters from old ‘90s characters from the network like SpongeBob, The Wild Thornberrys, Rugrats, and Hey! Arnold.

Outside of the special SpongeBob-themed Xbox Series X, the regular Xbox Series X is available for only US$ 499.

Also, this isn’t the first strange partnership between Microsoft’s Xbox and other companies. Recently, adidas announced an Xbox-themed sneaker coming soon.
