realme promises 125W fast charging smartphone next year

Though incredibly fast charging solutions already exist, a readily available smartphone that can handle such power has come few and far between. Smartphone makers are still trying to commercialize the solution for their lineup of devices. After unveiling their latest charging solution last year, realme has finally decided to commit to a publicly available 125W fast charging smartphone.

Last year, realme unveiled its 125W fast charging solution called UltraDART. The solution can supposedly charge a 4000mAh battery in just 20 minutes. It can even fill the same battery to 33 percent in just 3 minutes. However, as with most charging solution launches, the UltraDART hasn’t arrived in a compatible smartphone yet.

That’s about to change. In a statement made to GSMArena, realme vice president Madhav Sheth has confirmed that the brand will commercialize UltraDART next year. Further, the vice president says that they are also planning an “ultra-premium flagship” for the GT series. However, adding a bit of mystery to the announcement, Sheth did not confirm whether the charging solution will come to the GT series flagship.

Recently, realme went all-in on the GT series, slashing the realme X series for good. This year’s realme GT launched to much fanfare. An upcoming GT series, especially a 125W fast charging smartphone, will likely check a lot of marks when it comes out next year.
