Pixel Pass bundles a Pixel 6 with a subscription service

Everything is a subscription package nowadays. Countless of entertainment companies have created their own streaming service to lock their content behind exclusive paywalls. However, the world has moved past exclusive streaming services and applied the new subscription format to other things. In the same vein, Google is reportedly creating its own subscription package for its phones and services.

M. Brandon Lee has recently leaked news of a potential Google package called Pixel Pass. The package will reportedly include a Pixel phone, Google One, Play Pass, YouTube Premium, Google Fi, and an extended warranty.

Amid the leaked package’s exciting lineup, the leak doesn’t reveal how much the subscription will cost. The package sounds incredibly like Apple’s recent subscription package called Apple One. However, Apple’s package consists only of the brand’s digital services. Google is seemingly going beyond by including an actual phone with the package.

To further differentiate from Apple, Pixel Pass will supposedly offer regular upgrades for subscribers. Though it doesn’t include the frequency of upgrades, it will ideally offer a new phone every year.

Potential subscribers will have to apply for the plan before being allowed to buy a plan. Although, the plan will offer a way to reduce costs by trading in old phones.

Also, despite the abundance of details, Google has not officially confirmed the new product yet. If anything, the brand might launch the plan (and the Pixel 6 series) soon during its event on October 19.
