Twitter finally launches Super Follows feature

Twitter is finally pushing through with its new subscription system. After months of testing, the social media platform has launched its Super Follows feature, allowing content creators to lock their content behind a subscription system.

Twitter has started rolling the feature out for some users in the United States already. The feature will come to users who previously signed up for the test in the past. Naturally, it will start rolling out to everyone eventually.

The Super Follows feature will work much like current subscription platforms like Patreon and OnlyFans. Users can start charging their followers varying tiers: US$ 2.99, US$ 4.99, and US$ 9.99 per month. Depending on tier, paying subscribers can access content hidden behind the system.

The platform is even offering a tempting payment system: up to 97 percent of the revenue for users earning US$ 50,000 and below. Above that range, users can still earn p to 80 percent of their revenue.

More users can still apply for the feature. However, applications will only be available to U.S. users who are above 18 years old, have at least 10,000 followers, and post 25 tweets within 30 days.

Currently, the feature is available to a select few in the United States and using the iOS app. Twitter promises more availability in the coming months for more countries and for Android/web users.
