5 reasons why the Samsung Galaxy A22 is HOT for the price

5 Best things about the Samsung Galaxy A22
In Mint colorway

1. Modern, minimalist design - Out of the box, the A22 is an eye-catching phone. It clearly follows the design language of the modern Galaxy phones with the premium look and feels.

The front panel is made of glass while the back panel is made of high-quality glasstic. In between the two is the polycarbonate frame. Upon closer inspection, the polycarbonate frame is painted in a teal colorway with a matte texture. This texture reduces fingerprint smudges and makes the phone less slippery.

The curved polycarbonate frame and the curved back glasstic panel give the phone a sleeker look while making the phone easier to hold in the hand.

The phone is surprisingly lightweight in the hand at only 186 grams. The phone is sized just right at 159.3 x 73.6 x 8.4 mm, making it fit in our front pants pocket.

2. Vivid, vibrant display with smoother high refresh rate - The 6.4-inch 2.5D curved Super AMOLED display is in front with a 90Hz refresh rate, 1600 + 720 resolution, and 274 ppi. It supports 16 million colors and 10 points of multi-touch. This means that the panel can detect and register multiple taps and gestures simultaneously.

The panel produces bright images with deep blacks and vibrant colors. While we would have liked it better if it has a 1080p resolution, its HD+ 720p screen is crisp enough. Moreover, AMOLED is AMOLED.

Around the panel are slim top and side bezels with a notch on the top bezel. The slim bezels reduce distraction that makes the display more immersive.

3. Long-lasting battery life - Inside is a large 5,000mAh battery. This battery with OneUI and Helio G80 managed to endure over 10 hours and 47 minutes of our usual PCMark Battery benchmark.

In our time with the phone, the phone managed to last thru a 12 hour day with 25 percent of battery left. We used it as our daily driver, where we used it for calls, texts, instant messaging, web surfing, video and audio streaming, Waze, and social media.

That's lit!

The phone also supports Samsung's USB-C 15W Adaptive Fast Charging. It takes around 2 hours to charge the phone from 0 to 100 percent.

4. Capable cameras - At the back, it comes with a quad-camera setup. On the notch in front of the phone is a 13MP f/2.2 snapper.

It is made up of a 48MP f/1.8 main camera, 8MP f/2.2 ultra-wide camera, 2MP f/2.4 macro, and 2MP f/2.4 depth sensor.

What makes the A22 unique in its price range is that it is the most affordable Galaxy Phone with OIS. Actually, we think (correct us if we are wrong) that it is the most affordable new smartphone in the country with such tech.

This reduces the shake and vibration from the 1920 x 1080 at 30 fps footage that it captures with both the rear and front-facing cameras.

5. Price - At PHP 11,990, the Samsung Galaxy A22 is looking to be a good pick for people who want a phone with an eye-catching design, a 90Hz refresh rate display, reasonably long battery life, and good cameras with optical image stabilization.

Those are our 5 best features of the Galaxy A22.

Bonus: The Galaxy A22 runs with the modern Android 11 OS with One UI Core 3.1. It is a lightweight and feature-rich operating system which provides smooth operations. Samsung also recently improved its update commitment for most of its smartphones. Likely, the A22 will be a part of that.
